I can't remember what I have posted about and I'm too tired lazy to go back and read my old posts but I am dying to tell you about Disneyworld. First of all, I don't know why I thought it was going to be something totally different from Disneyland. It wasn't. But now I TOTALLY get why parents drag their tired, cranky children through Disneyland telling them through clenched teeth "We are GOING to have FUN".
You know, lucky for us, Hayley was only sixteen months old. She couldn't fall down on the floor screaming when we refused to buy her the 48.00 sweatshirt or when we cut her off from the giant pickles, churros, and chocolate covered bananas.
So here was what we were lucky enough to get away with:
Cost of Disney tickets for two adults, one day: 162.00
Parking at Disneyworld: 12.00
Hotel for two nights stay: 320.00
Sunscreen just inside the gate because you forgot yours: 11.00
Lunch (hot dog, fries and water) for a family of three: 33.00
Frozen lemonades: 16.00
Pictures with Mickey: 24.95
Souvenirs: 47.50
Bottled water throughout the day: 16.00
Watching your child sleep through the one parade they have at Disney that day? .................. Priceless? NO!! $642.45

I was just blog hopping when I came across yours and had to comment. You cracked me up...made me laughn :D as a monther of a 2.5 year old...you made my day THANK YOU!
~ I hope you don't mind if I check back ?

Oh, you are so right. DH and I love Disney---we live pretty close and usually end up going every year, there is plenty of stuff for adults to do alone. But every year we see parents forget that a Disney vacation is supposed to be for the kids, and they end up getting the kids off of their usual schedules, pushing them past their limits, forgetting that the kids' beloved characters are a bit scary when they are 6 feet tall in person, and finally getting angry when the poor kids get cranky!!
By the way, we also own Disney Vacation Club points---call me the next time you are going and I'll get you a room. That would at least make the price of Hayley sleeping through the parade $320 cheaper!

When my daughter went to Disney I did not get to go, but she had a great time. She attended a summer camp which took a dozen kids from Colorado to Disney and they kids had friends and really enjoyed the park. For me there was no clenched teeth, so I think it was the ideal way for a kid to go.
