The washing machine repairman is here. Amen. We were the 2nd stop on the route, and good thing too because our laundry is getting pretty out of control. I knew he was coming today so I only took the kids dirty laundry to my dad's house yesterday.
At any rate he quickly located the problem. Here is the culprit:
I must confess, I should have known better.
Yvonne might recognize this, it was the string from one of the booties her mom (mum) knitted and she sent me for Sam. I was taking a shortcut. Normally I would handwash that type of stuff but our delicate cycle on the washing machine is so much more efficient and it really is good at being delicate. I also should have realized that it would have been better to put them in a garment bag before washing. I just didn't pay attention.
This isn't the first time I have bunged up the washer. The last time we saw the very same error message it was because one of the underwires came out of a bra (that I incidentally was not washing in a garment bag).
When they came to replace our burned out pump they kindly gave us a garment bag to use. And most times I do use it. The one time I don't this is what happens.
So my husband was here to help me with the repairman which meant unfortunately I couldn't fabricate any elaborate story about the whatchamacallit not lining up with the thingamajigger and that being the results that the repairman found. My husband told me with every major appliance I break my Christmas gift is getting smaller and smaller. I laugh, but it's probably going to be true at this rate. Then he told me that I probably should just wash everything in garment bags from now on.
I have an idea! How about I don't do the laundry anymore?
