You know, I just don't even know what to say anymore. When things go wrong, they go ALL WRONG. The microwave deal is still on hold. We have to move the cabinet out and since I asked my husband one simple question about it and he bit my head off the other day I am going to duck out of the microwave situation. If he wants to move the cabinet himself and cut a hole in the back of it I am going to let him. If it looks janky and we have to replace the cabinet then oh well, we would have had to replace it with one of the correct size anyway. So I'm out on that one.
The situation of the day is that now the washing machine is on the fritz. Of course it is. Because I have a load of baby laundry in there. Sopping wet. With all the important stuff. You know, jammies, onesies, blankets, and burp cloths (aka "landing strips").
I have already called for service, not even bothering to ask my husband to look at it. Since we all remember what happened the last time I called for service and he looked at it. They will be out on Friday. I hope we can make it that long... I make it sound so dire but I know without a doubt that I could go to my parents house, or closer yet, my babysitters house a block away to do laundry if I really need to.
It's just so darn inconvenient. Timing is fantastic. Right before Thanksgiving. And I guess because my kitchen already looks like a construction zone I am feeling a little sensitive to yet another appliance breaking down. If the repairman comes out and tells me it is fried I have no idea what I am going to do. Probably cry. Because I am currently out on maternity leave and my paid portion ends next week. Because I just took an additional four weeks off unpaid. Because these are the kinds of emergencies that I can't plan for, and because I am a planner my natural reaction is just to cry.
But don't feel too bad for me. We do have a rainy day fund so this isn't going to put us out on the street despite the fact that I make it sound like we are destitute. I just hate spending money on repairs. My husband does too, and fortunately for us he is usually so handy that we don't have to. But also I am learning that for as many items as he can fix there are still a few that he can't and those tend to be the pricey ones.
Good ole Murphy. He just loves to come and visit our house.

Not meaning to be selfish, but please keep Murphy on your side of the pond! Seriously though, I hope you get the washer repaired with little fuss. Could be worse, you could be carrying the laundry to the river & bashing it on rocks!!
