You've heard me say it before. Whenever something can go wrong, it will. The microwave came.
And went.
It doesn't fit. Are you f#$^%^$ kidding me? It's too deep. Apparently our old model was like 16.25 inches deep and the new model is 19.5 inches deep. However, our cabinets were manufactured specifically for the old model. Fantastic.
Instead of a beautiful new microwave this is what we now have.
So my husband is figuring he will just pull out the cabinet, bolt some 2x4's behind the cabinet, and reinstall it. I will be calling Merillat on Monday to find out exactly how much it will cost to have the professionals do it, if they can even do it without compromising the structure of the cabinet. If not they will likely want an arm (or maybe only a leg) to create a new cabinet at the correct depth. In which case we are going to have to scrap the thought of having a beautiful matching built in microwave and go with having one that just sits inside the cabinet.
At this point I'm just glad that I didn't brush my teeth or change my clothes for the delivery man. Then I would'a felt REALLY ripped off.

Jenn - I hope you were extra stinky! Where do they get the need to add extra inches - it just doesn't make any sense, but hey, when does it ever?!
