Yes, THE microwave is coming. I am so excited I might even brush my teeth for the delivery man. Who am I kidding? I'm not going to brush my teeth,he'll just be lucky if I have enough time to change out of my baby puke stained pj's before he rings the bell.
My children, yes both of them, were up at 4:45 this morning. Consequently, now that nap time is here, they are both too tired to sleep. I would just like to know how come neither of them inherited the famous "sleeping gene" from my husband.
Oh yeah, but my microwave is coming today so it's like ying and yang. Yen and yang? All is in balance?
And it couldn't come a moment too soon either. See, that dinosaur microwave that we dug out and plugged in worked. For a moment. And then I went to use it and it wouldn't shut off. Sounds like I have the magic touch for microwaves doesn't it? Yeah, so I was heating up some dinosaur chicken nuggets for Hayley (when the child asks for protein I jump to it) and the microwave wouldn't shut off. Like, it went through 30 seconds and kept going. I pushed stop. stop. stop. stop. clear. stop. Nothing.
So I unplugged it. My husband didn't see a problem with that as his mom had an original "radar range" (a first generation microwave) that had a similar problem and they continued to use it for like 20 years just plugging it and unplugging it as needed. Me? Not so much. If it could potentially burn my house down then I don't really think it's a wise choice to keep it around. And so like I said, THE microwave couldn't come at a better time.
They should be here between 10-2. Just for that I will forego the eight minutes of naptime where both girls overlap and I usually crash. (So that I can blog for you of course.)
Pictures to follow once THE microwave gets here. And this one better last a good long time because I can't honestly say that I will ever spend that amount of money to replace it again. I think I would rather learn how to cook in a dutch oven over an open flame in my backyard before forking over a double car payment for a microwave.
