Dear Hayley,
Today was your first day of pre-school. I could not believe that this day was upon us, and so quickly at that. I laid out your new clothes last night. I barely slept. I got up early this morning, I was just so very excited for you. I was going to wake you up like Nemo, "First day of school, first day of school!" but you beat me to it. You tiptoed around the corner with a giant smile this morning.
It was tough to get a good first day picture of you- you are going through the phase of digging in your nose with your finger. Plus you are such a ham you were posing with a toy flower. I wasn't able to convince you to put the flower down so instead every photo shows you and that silly flower.
You walked right into pre-school this morning with only a moment of shyness. The principal asked you how you were doing and you said "Pretty good!" which got a chuckle out of all.
My dear sweet little girl you make me so proud. You were of course the cutest little girl in class and I just know you are going to have so much fun in school.
I don't know where all the time has gone- but I sure wish it would slow down. When you were a baby we were so excited for all of your "firsts" and now we also know with "firsts" come "lasts" and there are so many lasts I know I will not want to see. However, I will be happy to see you picking your nose for the last time. Just a thought.
I love you Hayley Pie!
Mommy
