The girls have been going to a different home daycare provider for about the last six weeks or so and now Hayley is hanging around a five and a half year old. You already know that children pick up all sorts of fun stuff at daycare but it cracks me up the things she says now. (At least I still find them cute and funny- one day in the not too distant future I am certain the novelty will wear off.)
Just this morning she says to me "Can I go upstairs and peek in on Sam?"
I relied "No, she is playing quietly in there because I think she is going to go back to sleep for a little bit. Why don't you sit up at the table and eat your breakfast? Or maybe sit in the chair and read this library book?"
She says to me with her head tilted at a little angle and her brow knitted "Why are you bossing me?"
It took everything I had not to giggle. "I'm not bossing you. I'm making suggestions. When I am bossing you, you will know." (Who reasons with a three year old anyway?)
Just like her other newest thing is to say "Mo-om" like she's already ten years old and I am embarassing her in front of her friends. I tell her to go get her shoes on and she says "Mo-om". Oh just wait sister, I haven't even shown you "Mo-om" yet.
And the latest and greatest. The other day I was leaving for work. We share lots of kises, hugs, and snuggles in this house and I make it a point every single day to kiss my children before I leave for work. I kissed Hayley and she put her hand to her face and WIPED IT OFF. I asked her "Did you just wipe off my kiss?"
She said "Yes." (with this coy little smile)
I asked "Why did you wipe off my kiss?"
She said "Because it was yucky."
Oh really? Yucky? I grabbed her and covered her in yucky kisses. I thought I would get more than two years ten months to kiss her before she thought that kisses from Mommy were yucky. Oh time goes way too quick. That wasn't the first time she did that but it was definitely the eye-opener for me.

My sister calls them big wet sloppy momma kisses
